An independent music label right in the heart of Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa. We help artists realise their creative visions and provide them with a pathway that enables them to share their art with the world. Established in 2015.

We know that individuality and creativity are what make each artist special and what help our arts communities to flourish. We support our artists in their unique creative pursuits and use our industry experience and connections to create pathways and services that can be tailored to an individual artist’s needs, wherever they are in their journey.

We love that every artist is different, and with that in mind, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to how we assist the artists who work with us.

Particle Recordings is the newly minted imprint of Bigpop, a recording studio, record label and publisher based in Auckland, Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Now, Particle is established to cultivate and elevate innovative music and connect the dots outside the box.

Spaces

We have bespoke recording spaces for artists of all kinds, ready to facilitate musical projects from the writing stages to the final master.

Our studio spaces are equipped with state of the art processing chains, a rich library of mics and preamps, and inputs to facilitate a single vocalist or a whole live band.

Studio B

Studio B is a mid-sized studio space, perfect for tracking elements like vocals and guitars, but also mixing and production.

There’s a selection of outboard gear to choose from along with an isolated recording booth for audio capture. The room has comfortable facilities for 1-4 people per session.

The Red Room

The Red Room is our writer’s haven, built for songwriting and in-the-box production. Lock in on a mix, collaborate on a project or craft an arrangement – the Red Room is perfect for bringing ideas to life.

Drake Street Studio

Drake St is our flagship performance capture space, with a live room equipped to service a live band and a control room with full production suite and essential outboard gear.
